One of the teams that joined Formula 1 racing in 1991 was Jordan Grand Prix. Founded by former Formula 1 driver Eddie Jordan, the team made their debut at the United States Grand Prix in Phoenix. Jordan Grand Prix quickly made a name for themselves, with driver Andrea de Cesaris scoring their first ever points in only their fifth race at the Mexican Grand Prix.
The team continued to impress throughout the season, with de Cesaris and his teammate Bertrand Gachot both showing strong performances. However, it wasn't until the 1998 season that Jordan Grand Prix achieved their first race win, with Damon Hill taking the top spot at the Belgian Grand Prix. This victory solidified Jordan Grand Prix as a serious contender in the world of Formula 1 racing.
Throughout their time in Formula 1, Jordan Grand Prix became known for their distinctive yellow and green livery, as well as their reputation for nurturing young talent. Many future Formula 1 stars got their start with Jordan Grand Prix, including Rubens Barrichello, Giancarlo Fisichella, and Heinz-Harald Frentzen.
Despite their successes on the track, Jordan Grand Prix faced financial difficulties in the early 2000s, leading to the team being sold to the Midland Group in 2005. The team was then rebranded as MF1 Racing before being sold again in 2006 to Dutch businessman Alex Shnaider, who renamed the team Spyker F1.
In 2008, the team was once again sold, this time to Indian businessman Vijay Mallya and was rebranded as Force India. Under Mallya's ownership, the team achieved their best ever result in the Constructors' Championship, finishing in fourth place in both the 2016 and 2017 seasons.
In 2018, the team was renamed Racing Point Force India after a change in ownership, and in 2021, the team was rebranded once again as Aston Martin Cognizant Formula One Team. Despite the name changes and ownership shifts, the team's legacy as Jordan Grand Prix lives on in the hearts of Formula 1 fans around the world.
