When it comes to endurance in the animal kingdom, one creature stands out above the rest: the albatross. Known for its incredible ability to stay in the air for extended periods, the albatross can stay aloft for as long as six months at a time without ever touching the ground.

These majestic birds are able to achieve this remarkable feat thanks to their large wingspan, which can measure up to 11 feet in some species. This allows them to glide effortlessly on air currents for hours on end, conserving energy and minimizing the need to land.

In 2015, a female wandering albatross named Amelia flew over 39,000 miles in just 94 days, traveling from South Georgia to the coast of Namibia and back again.
