As technology advanced, faster internet connections and more powerful mobile devices were introduced, leading to the eventual replacement of WAP with more advanced protocols like HTML and HTTP.

Despite being replaced by newer technologies, WAP played a crucial role in the evolution of mobile internet and paved the way for the modern smartphone era. It set the stage for the development of mobile applications and services that we rely on today.
