Day's film career began in 1948 with a role in "Romance on the High Seas", which led to a string of successful musical comedies including "Calamity Jane" and "The Pajama Game". She also starred in dramatic films such as "Love Me or Leave Me" and Alfred Hitchcock's "The Man Who Knew Too Much".
