Henry VIII's fourth wife was Anne of Cleves. Anne was born in 1515 in Germany and was the daughter of John III, Duke of Cleves. She became Queen of England when she married Henry VIII on January 6, 1540. However, their marriage was short-lived as Henry found Anne unattractive and unappealing.

Despite their marriage being annulled after only six months, Anne of Cleves was given a generous settlement by Henry, including Hever Castle and Richmond Palace. She lived the rest of her life in England as the "King's Beloved Sister" and was even invited to court events and festivities. Anne outlived Henry VIII and died in 1557 at the age of 41.

Although Anne of Cleves may not have had a successful marriage with Henry VIII, she was able to live a comfortable life in England after their annulment. She is often remembered for being the only one of Henry's wives to outlive him and for being the least controversial of all his marriages.
