Last but not least, Mike Rutherford, the bassist and one of the founding members of Genesis, also embarked on a successful solo career. Rutherford formed the band Mike + The Mechanics in 1985, which achieved significant commercial success. Their hit songs, including "The Living Years" and "All I Need is a Miracle," showcased Rutherford's songwriting prowess and melodic sensibilities. Rutherford's solo endeavors allowed him to explore his musical abilities beyond the Genesis sound, carving out a unique niche for himself.
